Tacotlan , a Mexican, birria and quesabirria takeout restaurant in Hermosa, got its City of Chicago food license on August 18, 2026. Tacotlan is a second, express-format location from the family behind the Hermosa birria taqueria of the same name, one block from the original. The menu is built around stewed beef birria: tacos, quesabirria, birria ramen and birria fries, each with consomé for dipping. The birria often sells out, so earlier is better. It passed its license inspection on August 10, 2026. Newly licensed spots often soft-open first, so check their listing or call ahead before you go.
